Privacy Policy
This English version is a translation. If it differs from the Polish version, the Polish version prevails.
We keep it simple, but we leave nothing out: who processes your data, what data, why, on what legal basis, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have.
1. Controller
The controller of your data is Maksymilian Waszkiewicz, ul. Słonimska 24/30, 15-028 Białystok, Polska. In this policy we call ourselves “we”.
Email for all matters concerning your data: kontakt@liskove.pl
You can also send a letter to the address above.
2. What data we process
- Account: your Apple sign-in identifier or email address, first name or nickname, avatar and invite code.
- Relationships: the list of your people in Liskove, the date you have been together since, your relationship status and the goals you chose at the start.
- Date of birth, if you give it: your people see only the day and month, so the fox can remind them of your birthday. We also use it to work out your zodiac sign and numerology number for the couple horoscope (Your Stars). We show the year to no one but you. You can change or delete the date in Profile.
- Content you create: answers to the Question of the Day, messages in a bottle, doodles, moods, game and test results, game invites and messages in games.
- The quiz “How well do you know me?”, if you make one: the questions you pick, your answers, the link code and your friends' answers. For each answer we save the name typed in, the options picked, the score and the time, and for an answer on liskove.pl also a hash (SHA-256) of a random browser token, so that one browser answers once. We do not save IP addresses: attempt limits work on a hash of the address with a key that changes every day.
- Referrals (Gift Liskove to a couple you know), if you use them: your relationship's referral code, whose code you add and when, the referral status and the days of Premium and berries you get. While your account is new (the first 30 days) or your referral is still waiting for a connection or activation, we also save the days on which you open the app (just the day, no details). To stop people from referring themselves, we compare hashes (SHA-256) of the notification tokens of new accounts, people in a referral and couples who share their code.
- Your fox: your fox's name, level, points, berries, items and streak.
- Chats with the fox (Lisek AI), if you use them: your messages to the fox, the fox's answers, the note of the day and the weekly insight, as well as when you give and withdraw consent and how many messages you send on a given day.
- Presence: whether you are in Liskove right now, and the minutes you and your person spend in the app together. You can turn presence off in Profile, Privacy: Show when I'm in Liskove.
- Approximate location, accurate to about 1 km: only if you allow it, to show the distance between you and your person.
- Device and notifications: a token for sending notifications, your time zone, the app version and your notification settings. We do not use the advertising identifier or the device identifier.
- Usage statistics: when and for how long you use the app, which features you open and whether you open our notifications.
- Technical data about app errors: the type of error, where in the app it happened and the app version, without the content you write. We remove email addresses, longer numbers and quoted fragments from error descriptions. We collect this data even when Usage stats is off, because without it we cannot fix the app.
- Consents and choices: when and where you turn Reminders and offers on or off.
- Purchases: your Premium subscription status, its period and renewals. We do not see your card details: Apple handles payments.
- Reports and safety: what a report is about, the reason, your description, a copy of the reported content and our decision, as well as the people you block.
- Messages to us: whatever you write in an email.
You provide most of this data in the app. The app collects presence, statistics, error data and device data automatically, and we get your purchase status from Apple and RevenueCat.
3. Why we process it and on what legal basis
- Account, shared fox, games, Question of the Day, messages, doodles, moods, presence, birthdays and the couple horoscope, widgets, Premium and notifications from your person: performance of a contract, namely the Liskove Terms of Service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Usage statistics and choosing the time of your reminders: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely improving Liskove and sending reminders at a time that does not bother you. We collect statistics only for our own use, view them in aggregate reports, do not combine them with data from other sources and do not use them for ads. You can turn off statistics and the choice of reminder time in Profile, Privacy.
- Error data, safety and protection against abuse, the leaderboard and a game order tailored to you: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). That interest is a smooth and safe app, a fair leaderboard and games you will really enjoy.
- Reminders from the fox about what is waiting for you in Liskove (the Question of the Day, an unopened message, your streak, the Lucky Wheel): our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely helping you not miss anything important. You can turn them off at any time in Profile, Notifications: Reminders.
- Offers and promotions in notifications: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time in Profile, Notifications: I'd like offers and promotions.
- Approximate location: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it with the Stop sharing button in the Distance section of the Us tab. We then delete the saved position. If you take away Liskove's access to your location in iPhone Settings, we will delete it the next time you open the app.
- Chats with the fox (Lisek AI): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which we ask for before your first message. The same consent covers this: when your person chats with the fox, the fox uses what they already see about you in the app, namely your mood, your Question of the Day answers, your test results, your zodiac sign, the number of days until your birthday and the number of days you opened the app. Without your consent these things do not go to the AI model, in your person's chats either. Once you consent, your person may be able to tell from the fox's answers that you have chats with the fox turned on. The fox in their chats never knows what you wrote in yours. If you write to the fox about your health or your intimate life, we process it on the basis of the same explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time in Profile, Lisek AI: Chats with the fox. From that moment none of this goes to the AI model anymore, not from the memory of your person's earlier chats with the fox either. What the fox has already answered them stays in their chat until they delete it.
- When your person chats with the fox and you have not turned on chats with the fox, the only things about you that go to the AI model are your name as shown in the app and what belongs to the two of you together: the number of days together and until your anniversary, your shared fox and joint counts (games, doodles, messages, days when you both answered the Question of the Day). The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely your person's conversation about your relationship, in which the fox knows the name and the shared facts. You can object to this by writing to kontakt@liskove.pl.
- Handling reports: a legal obligation under the Digital Services Act (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- The quiz and referrals: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We process answers from people without a Liskove account on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely showing the score and leaderboard they ask for by answering the quiz. Attempt limits, token hashes and activity days in the referral program protect against abuse, which is also our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Replying to your messages and establishing, pursuing and defending legal claims: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Withdrawing consent does not affect what we lawfully did before you withdrew it. We do not sell data, we do not show ads and we do not track you in other apps or on websites.
4. Who sees your data
- The people you add in Liskove see your name, avatar, moods, shared results and the content you send them or create together.
- After a disconnection or a block, neither of you can see your shared content anymore.
- Your person sees a green dot when you are in Liskove right now. On a day you open the app, the fox may also send them a reminder, for example “Sam is in Liskove today”. You can turn off both in Profile, Privacy: Show when I'm in Liskove. Then you do not see your person's green dot either, and your time together in the app is not counted. We also do not send such a reminder when Usage stats is off.
- Your answer to the Question of the Day may be mentioned in a reminder to your person, for example “Sam is waiting for your answer”.
- Your person sees your answer to the Question of the Day only after they answer too.
- Only you see your chats with the fox. Your person cannot see them, and the fox passes nothing from your chat on to them. We do not look through them unless you report a fox answer or the law requires it. A report then includes that answer and your message the fox was replying to.
- The fox's answers are written by an AI model from Anthropic. So the fox can answer, we pass Anthropic your message, the latest messages of that chat and a short description of what you have in the app: your first name, zodiac sign, moods, Question of the Day answers, test results (not the 18+ tests), relationship status and the goals you chose at the start, the number of days you opened the app, the number of messages in a bottle waiting to be opened and whether you have Premium, and, from what you share, your person's first name, your fox's name, level and streak, today's Question of the Day, the number of games, doodles and messages you shared and of days when you both answered the Question of the Day, the titles of the games you played in the last week, and the number of days together and until your anniversary. What your person shows you in the app (their mood, their Question of the Day answers you can already see, their test results, their zodiac sign, the number of days until their birthday and the number of days they opened the app) is passed on only if they have agreed to chats with the fox too. The fox does not tell you whether they have, and the app does not show it. We do not pass on your email address, account identifier, location, year of birth, the content of messages in a bottle, doodles, or your person's answers that you cannot see yet. The region set on your phone is used only to choose the help numbers the fox gives in a crisis. Anthropic does not use this content to train its models and deletes it from its systems within 30 days, unless it has to keep it longer because of the law or a breach of its usage policy.
- The app automatically checks a message to the fox for words that may point to a crisis or violence, only to make sure the fox gives the help numbers. We mark such an answer in the chat and notify no one about it.
- From your location, your person sees only the distance between you, never a map or your position.
- If you give your date of birth, your person sees your zodiac sign and numerology number (life path number), worked out from that date, in the couple horoscope (Your Stars). We do not show the year or the full date: our server works out the number and passes on only the number. The number depends on the whole date, so together with the day and month it can indirectly point to your year of birth. The couple horoscope is for fun and a reason to talk, not advice or a prediction.
- The leaderboard shows everyone only your fox's name, level, look and points. Never your name. You can opt out in Profile: Show us on the leaderboard.
- The quiz: anyone with the link sees the name from your profile (its first word), the questions, the number of answers and a leaderboard of names with scores. A person sees your answers only after giving their own. We do not show your avatar, email or anything else from your account. You see every name and score in the app: you can delete any answer, close the quiz or delete it. When you answer your person's quiz in the app, your name on the leaderboard gets a badge that shows you are their person.
- Referrals: your referral link shows the names of your couple (the first word of each profile name) to anyone who opens it, on liskove.pl and in the app. You see only the status of each referral, without the new couple's names or activity.
- A person on our team reviews reported content. We do not show the reported person who reported them.
- Companies that process data on our behalf and only on our instructions: Supabase (database, sign-in, files and servers), RevenueCat (subscription management), Expo (sending notifications) and Anthropic (the AI model that writes the fox's answers, only when you use chats with the fox). Each of them is bound by contract to protect your data at least as well as described in this policy.
- Apple runs the App Store, payments, Sign in with Apple and notification delivery. For payments and your Apple account, Apple acts under its own privacy policy.
- Courts, police and other authorities: only when the law requires it.
5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Supabase stores the Liskove database in the Dublin, Ireland (EU) region. RevenueCat, Expo, Anthropic and Apple may process data in the USA, and the Supabase team may access it from outside the EEA, for example when providing technical support. We base such transfers on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework when the company participates in it, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. We will send you a copy of these safeguards on request: kontakt@liskove.pl
6. Profiling
We use profiling in only two simple ways:
- We choose the time of your reminder based on when you usually open Liskove and our notifications. We do this only when you have Reminders and Usage stats turned on. Without Usage stats, the reminder comes at a fixed time: 7 PM, or the nearest full hour outside your quiet hours.
- We choose the order of games and the “For you” suggestions based on what you play and what is popular right now. Without Usage stats, the order does not depend on your game history.
We do not make decisions on this basis that have legal effects on you or similarly significantly affect you.
Lisek AI uses what you see in the app so that an answer fits the two of you. It does not assess you and makes no decisions about you.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account data and content for as long as you have an account. We delete usage statistics and error data after 90 days, session history after 180 days and the history of sent notifications after 30 days. We keep the time profile for as long as you have Reminders and Usage stats turned on. We keep the consent history for as long as you have an account, so we can show when consent was given. We delete a saved location when you stop sharing it. We delete chats with the fox and weekly insights after 90 days and notes of the day after 30 days, unless you delete them earlier: in the chat (Delete chat) or in Profile, Lisek AI: Delete chats with the fox. We delete the daily message counters and the technical records of calls to the AI model (no content: time, mode and token counts) after 35 days. After a disconnection or a block, we delete the chats with the fox from that relationship right away. We keep reports and decisions for 12 months from the decision. After a disconnection or a block, your shared messages, doodles and answers disappear from the app right away and from our servers after 30 days. Until then we keep them only so they can be reported. We keep the list of people you block until you unblock them or delete your account. A quiz takes answers for 60 days, and 180 days after it was made we delete it with its answers, unless you delete it earlier. Attempt limit counters disappear after a day. We delete the app opening days saved for the referral program after 60 days, notification token hashes after 400 days, and referrals and the rewards for them after 2 years. We keep messages to us for as long as needed to resolve the matter and to defend against any claims. After you delete your account, your data also disappears from backups, within 30 days at the latest.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and all your data in the app: Profile, Account, Delete account. Your shared fox then stays with your person. You cancel an App Store subscription separately in your iPhone settings.
If you use Sign in with Apple, when you delete your account we also revoke Liskove's sign-in authorization at Apple. If Apple does not respond right away, we retry automatically. Until then we keep the token needed for the revocation (for up to 7 days) and your Apple sign-in identifier (for up to 30 days), solely for this purpose. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): completing the account deletion on Apple's side as well.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access your data and get a copy of it, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict its processing and to data portability, as well as the right to object described in section 6. You can withdraw consent at any time, as described in section 3. You can change your name, avatar, notifications, statistics, presence and leaderboard settings yourself in Profile, and for anything else, write to kontakt@liskove.pl. We will reply within one month at the latest.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland.
10. Do you have to give us your data?
Giving us your account data is voluntary, but Liskove cannot work without it, because the shared fox and the connection with your person rely on it. Location, notifications, reminders, offers, usage statistics and chats with the fox are voluntary, and you can opt out of them at any time.
11. Age
Liskove is for people who are at least 18 years old.
12. Changes
We will tell you about important changes to this policy in the app before they take effect.
